Zombies

I have never ever downloaded a Designer Drugs track until now. Being bored all day at home on the computer, i thought why not give them a chance. From the moment the song started till it finished i was glued to it. An excellent track, trippy as sounds and synths full of bass and fun melodies. So i headed over to their MySpace and i just wanted to say their artwork is so cool. Not the best description but just download this monster and you will know what im talking about.

YOUNG GUNS # 2 : HUBERT

Welcome to the second installment of young guns.          YES!
excited?
This time, we interviewed a zoo keeper from Taronga Zoo, but he didnt really have a whole lot to say about music.
so we got HUBERT.
Photobucket

This kid is going places, sexy places
It's hard to talk about this kid professionally, (not that I can talk professionally at all) because I've known him since I was 8, or something.
But i'll try.
We caught up and this is what he had to say:

LGGS:

Where you from fool?

HUBERT:
I am from Kirribilli. Its funny: people always try to be really smart and ask me if that means I’m gay, or perhaps more commonly: “How’s Johhny H?”. I’m not quite sure if they realise that the Prime Minister is no longer John Howard and that the Labor Party has taken over the running of the country. I really fail to see any intelligence in people who say that kind of stupid shit.

But yes, LGGS, I live in Kirribilli.

LGGS:
How old?

HUBERT:
I am 17 years old. I’m 18 soon, and that’s going to be my time to head straight to the Longy for a few double/triples (hahaha!).

LGGS:
How did you first get into production, deejaying, wearing leather jackets, etc?

HUBERT:
My older brother, Charlie (Chux from
Sydney trio: the aptly named 'Disco Punx'), got some turntables when I was about 13 or 14 and the music he played broke my eardrums in. Previously I had been scaling Limewire for the latest chart-toppers from Murda Inc. (Ja Rule, Ashanti, Fat Joe & Irv Gotti), or the most recent track by Justin Timberlake where, in the video, he dances like a woman and ironically racks the women because of that very action. Killing me. Producing came as part of that, pretty much before the Djing, because Charlie didn’t want me to wreck his shiny new gear. I got into computer producing, taking samples from Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Goose, early Van She Tech, Junior Boys, Teki Latex, Surkin etc. The Djing came soon after, and I got goods at it. Then my mum yelled at me because I didn’t get off the computer ever. She still yells.

LGGS:
Whats your sound?

HUBERT:
I don’t really even know if I have one yet. I reckon I’ll find my sound when I actually start using good equipment. At the moment, it says on my myspace profile – “Sounds Like: The aftermath of a tsunami. All wooeerrrggghhhehwhwew”, so look out for that in my sampling. There’s a track called “Tsunami” where I looped the grungy death vocals on the 16th and put a trance beat over the top. It goes for 18 hours. That’s a joke.

LGGS:
Influences?

HUBERT:
Everyone always says
Ajax, Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Presets, Justice. Standard. All of those guys, but more influential: Breakbot, Siriusmo, Phones, Aeroplane, SHAZAM, Art Vs Science, Treasure Fingers, dAta, David Rubato, Metronomy, Deelat, Le Knight Club (etc on Crydamoure), CSK OK, G.L.O.V.E.S. Also the writer of the blog “Hyperbole”: Dave. He gave me my first post of my little almost Baltimore remix of Phantom Pt II about 2 years ago. It was awesome! I started to see people using it in their mixes about a month later and it was sick!

LGGS:
Biggest moments so far?

HUBERT:
Absolutely positive it was sharing the bill with Kato & Bag Raiders a while ago at an under 18s party. I don’t even think the kids knew what was going on when the first track came out from Bag Raiders! Everyone went a drug induced kind of mental!

LGGS:
Crazy stories you crazy cunt?

HUBERT:
Well it was pretty crazy teaming up with the writer of LGGS, Chevy Bass aka Jusep aka yourself, you insane mother fucker, at that 18th not so long ago. We blew the leggings, dresses, pants and shorts off of many anxious legal and sub-legal aged boys and girls with our louder-than-allowed volume level and were welcomed back for round two I gather. The brother’s 21st. That’s how us young gunning DJs roll. I am never using any of those lines again in my life.

Thankyou Chev.

All in all, this prodigy from Kirribilli (Hows the president man?) is going to be someone to look out for in your next few years on earth. Such a nice guy!

Hubert was recently featured on FBI's underage Deejay competition, 1 of the 6 finalists from the thousands that entered.

and he should of won.

ANYWAY

i was lucky enough to get some of his awesome remixes and now you can have them too!

New Oizo & Raiders

Well the name of the post gives it away i guess. Here are a couple tunes, i'm really digging at the moment. So i thought why not share them with you. The new Mr. Oizo track which is avaliable to buy off his new LP. You may have seen the video of SebastiAn dropping this. Once i saw this video i loved the track. The LP is tradition Oizo style just really "fucked up" you could say. Just cut up and weird but in a good way of course sounds like he was stoned when making the tracks once again in a good way haha. Now on to Australia's own well, Sydney's own Bag Raiders. Who have finally released their long awaited EP titled Turbo Love. The name already tells you the track is going to be huge and melodic well thats what i thought. This tune puts me in a good mood. They are touring Australia at the moment in celebration of their EP launch. Be sure to catch them. Anyway here are the tunes.

Disc One, D is for Disco is the more playful, eclectic of the two, equally suited for play in your cafĂ© to accompany your piccolo latte or perfect for a session of qualudes on the couch, while the second disc, E Is For Dancing is the more focused, darker, nasty little bitch created with the sole purpose of more serious, shirts off, hedonistic virgin sacrifice-style partying.
But whether  a mellower shade of daytime disco is your thing, or a harder, darker style of night musik is your dance dose, D Is For Disco, E Is For Dancing is shaping up to be the only collection of modern day acid jazz worth your salt this summer.
And If you havn't already, down the fuck load the Mini-Mega-Mix

You can do that HERE
Its around 45 songs in 10 minutes. Pretty cool.

I'm really excited, so excited I pre ordered it. YOU CAN TOO

My Way

Hello People, Yes, this is my first post. I'm the newest addition to the blog my names Danny and I come from Melbourne. Any who i can't sleep at all so i thought i might just introduce my self to the blog and post up Danger's new remix. His added his special touch this time to Starskee's track My Way. I love the way he remixes a song the way he always has killer vocals then the trademark Danger synth. Then he will cut up the vocals and play around with the synth and it will always sound insane, well at least i think he does that haha. Anway I'm still awaiting his 2nd EP if anyone knows when its going to be released please let me know. The structure of this track is awesome and you really have to sit down and listen to it to appreciate it and you will enjoy more and more you listen like most Danger tracks i guess. Anyway Enjoy.
