NEW YEAR

Photobucket

This will no doubt be the last post of the year.

I don't plan on being in the state to post a blog for a very long time.

I'm currently in Melbourne, got down to 3rd Class with Bang Gang on Boxing Night. What a night that was.
So I'm thinking maybe I should sling you guys the 4th episode of The Finger Prince, by the artist formally known as Fisto, Angus and perhaps, the Hoodrat.

The Finger Prince Pt. 4 – Gus Da Hoodrat

YAY.

Ok, true story. This guy, Hemingway, adds me on meespace. I check out his tracks. And they turn out to be fucking cool.
So I'm blogging him.
(Sorry I took so long dude!)

Also, I meant to post this track by a man by the name of Christov a llllooong time ago. So, again. Sorry I took so long mayne.

You know how most blogs do like a best tracks of the year thing? Well yeh, I cant be fucked to do that. So, you guys can just have these, all of these tracks are prettty wicked.

Go Go Go (ft. Genevan Heathen) – Teki Latex

Thats it for now. See you next year.

Justification

Think i might just clear things up, im sure u read that post the other day were i told you all bout Gaspard's situation. Well as i suspected Gaspard was telling the truth, but i did have some doubt on Justice so might just apologise to them now. The picture above shows Gaspard replugging his midi controller which was unplugged. Anyway on other news the line up for Future Music Festival was announced and here it is:

N*E*R*D feat. Pharrell Williams(live)
Basement Jaxx(live)
CSS(live)
Paul Oakenfold
Markus Schulz
Etienne De Crecy(live)
Steve Angello
Sebastian Ingrosso
Joachim Garraud
Christopher Lawrence
Tocadisco
Mr Oizo
Lifelike
Yacht(live)
Super 8 & Tab
Silent Disco Arena

I'm happy with the line up a bit cheesy but oh well i really cant wait to see Oizo & Lifelike they will be awesome. Anyway heres an Oizo remix by a young fella called Swick from Melbourne hit him up on myspace & also here is Lifelikes killer remix of Cross the Dancefloor.

Too Good To Be True

Well with Justice just starting up their live shows which are the bomb and A Cross the Universe due to release in aroud a week, you would think things are all sweet for Justice. Although just recently in a Interview Justice revealed they used over 400 uncleared samples in their debut album. They say they are so small you can barely notice most of them some they had to clear with artists cause of the size and use of them. But the big news which is all over the net at the moment is the picture above. Gaspard is fiddling with the knobs on the midi controller and it's not even plugged in. He claims he was looking at the computer, which he is and couldn't see that the midi was turned off but he seems to be doing something wouldnt he have realised what ever he was doing wasn't actually doing anything unless it was that split second it fell out that the picture was taken which is a long shot well not really, just think of how many people take Justice pictures. Im going to stick by Justice in this one despite all the negataive feedback towards them lately. They are still the two coolest guys who produce super music and their live versions are insane. Just in case you havn't got your hands on them here they are.

STUCK ON REPEAT

Photobucket

All these songs have literally been stuck on repeated, my repeat button is broken

Luckily there fucking awesome.

Simply the best remix of this song i have heard. Etienne brings his whole Frenchy feel to the track. fuck I love Frenchies. there's a few floating around so if you're in possession of something better. Hook me up.

My Love Sees you (Etienne De Crécy's Coco Walsh Remix) - Beni

Secondly, this is just groovy. I'm not 100 % on what I like about it. The start is fucking wicked but.

I heard this song on the radio the other night, It got stuck in my head like...something that gets stuck somewhere regularly and you can't remove it. Oh yeh, its fucking awesome.

Where would the world be without Fake Blood. This mix is a stunner. A little bit different, but there's still the distinctive Fake Blood style. Marry me.

Godspeed Kiddies!

Its Our Adventure

Photobucket
Time for another post.
Lucky this one was fun

I recently caught up with Joe from Our Adventure, and this is how it went...

LGGS: Where you from fool?
Our Adventure: Melbourne dude! Heart and soul of Australia!

LGGS: Melbourne is making Australia look pretty good at the moment. What got you into producing/deejaying/fluro? Any musical background?
Our Adventure: DROP THE PRESSURE!!! To me that song was the basis of lo-fi dance music!
It started it all! And the first remix that I did was of drop the pressure, it was an 80’s sounding synth riff with drop the pressure running through the back, not particularly proud of it but none the less it was a remix!
As for musical background well I play piano going on 4 years now so yeah got my stuff sorted haha!

LGGS: What made you think it was time for a name change?
Our Adventure: Well Yes! Didn’t have as much power as I wanted and it was only one word!
But yeah made a lot of good contacts and friends while producing under Yes! So there are no regrets or anything like that!
Our Adventure! Is been getting a lot of feedback and good reviews from friends and other artists!

LGGS: Personally I think its wicked ha. For all the losers who don’t know, describe the Our Adventure’s sound
Our Adventure: Our Adventure! Is a combination of Grum and Bag Raiders!
We like to keep the sounds light and to have a tropical feel about them so it doesn't get boring listening to!

LGGS:
Lets get Tropical. What are you keener on, producing originals or doing the killer remixes you have provided us with?
Our Adventure: Dude at the moment im up for anything, if there is a song that I like and think it needs something edit or remix it!
I really like the way that our Surf Team RMX came out and the way our passions remix came out so I guess ill be releasing some more remixes in the weeks to come!

LGGS: I fucking hope so.
LGGS: In terms of other artists, who are some of the dudes that you look up to? Influences?
Our Adventure: Bag Raiders are the biggest influence of mine, it's just their originality. I have every song the have made including the stuff they did before they were as big as they are now: ‘Smoking’, ‘Tekno Party!’ and even their Christmas track! They did amazing work on their original Nil by Mouth and Turbo Love if you haven’t heard them get them NOW!

LGGS: What’s on the horizon homie?
Our Adventure:Everything dude! We have a few up and coming remixes coming up!
I spoke to Ash Le Rouge and Clark Kunt recently and they are going to be putting a spin or Theme to Our Adventure!
Going to be popping some remixes and originals out very soon just to keep you guys exited we are chucking a spin on Daft Punk’s Aerodynamic! So definitely look out for that on the
blogs!

LGGS: Exclusive rights to Les Gamins Gros Sucent of course.

HA, well as you can tell he's a fucking good guy. So get on over to the myspace:

Zombies

I have never ever downloaded a Designer Drugs track until now. Being bored all day at home on the computer, i thought why not give them a chance. From the moment the song started till it finished i was glued to it. An excellent track, trippy as sounds and synths full of bass and fun melodies. So i headed over to their MySpace and i just wanted to say their artwork is so cool. Not the best description but just download this monster and you will know what im talking about.

YOUNG GUNS # 2 : HUBERT

Welcome to the second installment of young guns.          YES!
excited?
This time, we interviewed a zoo keeper from Taronga Zoo, but he didnt really have a whole lot to say about music.
so we got HUBERT.
Photobucket

This kid is going places, sexy places
It's hard to talk about this kid professionally, (not that I can talk professionally at all) because I've known him since I was 8, or something.
But i'll try.
We caught up and this is what he had to say:

LGGS:

Where you from fool?

HUBERT:
I am from Kirribilli. Its funny: people always try to be really smart and ask me if that means I’m gay, or perhaps more commonly: “How’s Johhny H?”. I’m not quite sure if they realise that the Prime Minister is no longer John Howard and that the Labor Party has taken over the running of the country. I really fail to see any intelligence in people who say that kind of stupid shit.

But yes, LGGS, I live in Kirribilli.

LGGS:
How old?

HUBERT:
I am 17 years old. I’m 18 soon, and that’s going to be my time to head straight to the Longy for a few double/triples (hahaha!).

LGGS:
How did you first get into production, deejaying, wearing leather jackets, etc?

HUBERT:
My older brother, Charlie (Chux from
Sydney trio: the aptly named 'Disco Punx'), got some turntables when I was about 13 or 14 and the music he played broke my eardrums in. Previously I had been scaling Limewire for the latest chart-toppers from Murda Inc. (Ja Rule, Ashanti, Fat Joe & Irv Gotti), or the most recent track by Justin Timberlake where, in the video, he dances like a woman and ironically racks the women because of that very action. Killing me. Producing came as part of that, pretty much before the Djing, because Charlie didn’t want me to wreck his shiny new gear. I got into computer producing, taking samples from Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Goose, early Van She Tech, Junior Boys, Teki Latex, Surkin etc. The Djing came soon after, and I got goods at it. Then my mum yelled at me because I didn’t get off the computer ever. She still yells.

LGGS:
Whats your sound?

HUBERT:
I don’t really even know if I have one yet. I reckon I’ll find my sound when I actually start using good equipment. At the moment, it says on my myspace profile – “Sounds Like: The aftermath of a tsunami. All wooeerrrggghhhehwhwew”, so look out for that in my sampling. There’s a track called “Tsunami” where I looped the grungy death vocals on the 16th and put a trance beat over the top. It goes for 18 hours. That’s a joke.

LGGS:
Influences?

HUBERT:
Everyone always says
Ajax, Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Presets, Justice. Standard. All of those guys, but more influential: Breakbot, Siriusmo, Phones, Aeroplane, SHAZAM, Art Vs Science, Treasure Fingers, dAta, David Rubato, Metronomy, Deelat, Le Knight Club (etc on Crydamoure), CSK OK, G.L.O.V.E.S. Also the writer of the blog “Hyperbole”: Dave. He gave me my first post of my little almost Baltimore remix of Phantom Pt II about 2 years ago. It was awesome! I started to see people using it in their mixes about a month later and it was sick!

LGGS:
Biggest moments so far?

HUBERT:
Absolutely positive it was sharing the bill with Kato & Bag Raiders a while ago at an under 18s party. I don’t even think the kids knew what was going on when the first track came out from Bag Raiders! Everyone went a drug induced kind of mental!

LGGS:
Crazy stories you crazy cunt?

HUBERT:
Well it was pretty crazy teaming up with the writer of LGGS, Chevy Bass aka Jusep aka yourself, you insane mother fucker, at that 18th not so long ago. We blew the leggings, dresses, pants and shorts off of many anxious legal and sub-legal aged boys and girls with our louder-than-allowed volume level and were welcomed back for round two I gather. The brother’s 21st. That’s how us young gunning DJs roll. I am never using any of those lines again in my life.

Thankyou Chev.

All in all, this prodigy from Kirribilli (Hows the president man?) is going to be someone to look out for in your next few years on earth. Such a nice guy!

Hubert was recently featured on FBI's underage Deejay competition, 1 of the 6 finalists from the thousands that entered.

and he should of won.

ANYWAY

i was lucky enough to get some of his awesome remixes and now you can have them too!
